Biography
Tom Marzolf, ASGCA Past President, is based in Hendersonville, N.C. He holds a B.A. in landscape architecture from Virginia Tech (minor in art and art history), graduating cum laude in 1982. He has worked for Fazio Golf Course Designers, Inc. since 1983 and is Senior Design Associate with the firm. Among the notable layouts he recently designed are Ritz Carlton Members Course, Sarasota, Fla.; The Greenbrier Sporting Club – The Snead Course, White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.; The Capital City Club – The Crabapple Course, Atlanta; and The Green Monkey Course, Barbados, B.W.I.
Some of Tom's recent remodeling projects include Oakmont Country Club, Oakmont, Pa.; Merion Golf Club, Ardmore, Pa.; Firestone Country Club – South Course, Akron, Ohio; Winged Foot Golf Course, Mamaroneck, N.Y.; Oak Hill Country Club, Rochester, N.Y.; and Riviera Country Club, Santa Monica, Calif.
Tom has also been a consulting architect for a number of golf tournaments, including the 2010 U.S. Open – Women's; the 2006 and 2007 U.S. Open; the 2002 U.S. Senior Open; the 2003, 2004 and 2005 U.S. Amateurs; and the 1997 and 2003 PGA Championships. |
