Floridian National hosts President Obama and golf elite

The Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla., had an active few weeks recently. President Barack Obama played 27 holes at the the course on three consecutive days, following a recent fundraiser which featured Jack Nicklaus, ASGCA FellowArnold Palmer, ASGCA Fellow and others.

"Golf Course Management" reports: "Obama's visit concluded what has been quite a month at the 17-year-old course, originally designed by Gary Player and re-designed two years ago by Tom Fazio, ASGCA. On Feb. 4, Nicklaus, Palmer, Gary Player, and Lee Trevino headlined the legendary names who participated in a fundraiser at Floridian for the son of Champions Tour golfer Dana Quigley. His son, Devon, suffered severe head injuries in an automobile accident.

"'It was like having the Hall of Fame on our range,' course superintendent Eric Swenson says."
