Tournament Preview: HSBC Champions at Sheshan International Golf Club

From November 5–8, 2009, Sheshan International Golf Club, located in Shanghai, China, will host the World Golf ChampionshipsHSBC Champions. A Nelson & Haworth design, the 18-hole course has a total length of 7149 yards and is set within the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist & Holiday Zone. ASGCA recently sat down with architect Neil Haworth, ASGCA to discuss the upcoming tournament and the course.

 
Tournament Preview: 91st PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club

From Aug. 13-16, 2009, Hazeltine National Golf Club located in Chaska, Minnesota will host the 91st PGA Championship. A Robert Trent Jones design, Hazeltine first opened its beautiful fairways and greens in 1962. Today, Rees Jones succeeds his father, serving as consulting architect for the course’s renovations and remodeling efforts.

 
Tournament Preview: 2009 Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands

TPC River Highlands is a par 70, 6,844 yard course in Cromwell, Connecticut, 10 miles south of Hartford. Holes 15-17 are noted for playing beautifully around a four-acre lake. ASGCA staff recently sat down with architect Bobby Weed, ASGCA to discuss the course he renovated and the upcoming tournament.

 
Tournament Preview: Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Country Club

From May 28-31, the golf world will congregate to beautiful Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas for the Crowne Plaza Invitational. As the architect responsible for Colonial’s recent course renovations, Keith Foster, ASGCA recently discussed the course and the upcoming golf tournament.
